District 9670 will have the honor in welcoming and meeting Past District Governor (PDG) Kamal Sanghvi and his partner Sonal, all the way from India. He will be Rotary International President, Gary C.K. Huang's Representative at our upcoming District Conference on Friday 20 to Sunday 22 March in Forster. 
 

PDG Kamal Sanghvi will share a message with us from our International President at our upcoming District Conference Waves of Change – Oceans of Opportunity.

PDG Kamal is an active member of the Rotary Club of Dhandbad India. He was District Governor of District 3250 India in 2005-2006 comprising 80 clubs in Bighar and Jharkhand. He has an outstanding history as a Rotarian.

At international level PDG Kamal was a Training Leader at the International Assembly in San Diego for incoming District Governors in 2011-2013 and 2012-2013.

PDG Kamal has also represented the International Presidents at District Conferences in Bombay India, Georgia USA, Pakistan, Philippines and Orange NSW, so he has much experience to draw from.

He has conducted a breakout session at the World Convention in Birmingham titled "Saheli – Vocational Training and Family Welfare Centre for Women".

Among many other Rotary commitments PDG Kamal and his Rotarian wife Sonal are Level Two Major Donors and Benefactors to the Rotary Foundation. Their sons, father and mother are Paul Harris Fellows.

PDG Kamal has been awarded the Service Above Self Award and the Four Avenues of Service Award by Rotary International. He has also been presented with the Distinguished Service Award and The Citation for Meritorious Service by The Rotary Foundation.

PDG Kamal graduated from Kasturba Medical College, Manipal in Pharmaceutical Sciences. He is a keen sportsman and likes to play cricket, football, table tennis and is a mountaineer. An avid traveller, he has travelled extensively throughout the world.
