This October school holidays, the Rotary Club of Rylstone Kandos rolled-up their sleeves and manned the BBQ at the Rylstone Family Funday. Club member, Elizabeth McKay shares the successes of the day with District 9670 and thanks all the club members for their contribution to making the day such a great success for the local community...

Rylstone Kandos Rotary Club again sup-ported the Rylstone Family Fun Day during the October holidays. Rotary supports this day each year by manning the BBQ and cooking sausages (not so healthy really but what can you do?) and vegetarian wraps (that are healthy), fruit juice and water. Adults were served tea or coffee.

“We love to support this initiative,” said Klaus Keck President of the Rotary Club of Rylstone Kandos. “It is great to see all the children and young people having good fun in a healthy way.” he concluded. One person who worked really hard, was Kristine Pederson our Exchange Student from Denmark. All agreed that Kristine is a brilliant ambassador for Rotary, Denmark and her family.

The Family Fun Day is sponsored by Mid Western Council and family support agencies and aims to promote healthy and affordable living. The theme this year was growing your own food and included compost making and recycling. These activities was supported by many stalls including Health One, and family support agencies who work in the area. Sport was not forgotten with activities from cricket and NRL.
