Rotary is looking for enthusiastic young people who will be in Year 8,9 or 10 in 2015 to take part in the Australia New Zealand Short Term Exchange Program for 2015.
Each year Rotary’s Australia New Zealand Short Term Exchange Program sponsors young people aged 14-16 to be matched with New Zealand students and each one spends one school term living and attending school in the others country.
“This program gives young people the opportunity to experience being a part of another culture. They will attend school and be involved in the normal day to day activities of their host family. This program is one of the ways Rotary can introduce young people to be an ambassador and to spread international understanding and goodwill” said Alison Tiananga, District Chairman for the Program.
“Participants in the program rave about how great an experience it is. They learn so much not only about New Zealand, but about themselves and their abilities to handle new situations and gain independence ” said Alison.
Interested Students or parents can find more information about the program on the website www.ranzse.org . Expressions of interest close 30th June 2014. Alison can also be emailed on ranze@rotary9670.org.au.
“Rotary provides great training and briefing to all participants and their families as part of the program. Parents need not worry at all about their children while they are away as they have the full support and backing of Rotary in Australia and New Zealand at all times” said Alison.
Please canvass your local High Schools for a student that your club could sponsor to participate in this wonderful program. Thank you for your support of this valuable program.
