After months of planning and preparation, a team of young professionals embarked upon the journey of a lifetime.  In March, Rotary District 9670 sent a team of professionals on a unique cultural and vocational exchange.  Erin Marney (Operations Manager, Hunter Business Chamber), Andrew Best (Club Manager, Lake Macquarie PCYC), Helen Squires (Senior Environmental ScientistLandloch) and Karen James (Zookeeper, Taronga Western Plains Zoo), and Lindy Hunt (Principal, Scone High School) were selected to represent not only their profession, but also this region.

The 4 week Group Study Exchange aims to take young professionals to another country and provide opportunities for them to observe their profession in action, exchange ideas and information as well as providing cultural immersion through home hosting.

This highly successful program by the Rotary Foundation has been in place for over 25 years, and has enabled personal and professional development for participants around the world.  As an ambassador for their profession, for Australia and for Rotary team members will be meeting with peers, municipal leaders, Rotarians and families, exchanging ideas, embracing opportunities, and immersing in a new culture.

You can follow the team via Facebook http://www.facebook.com.au/GSE9670 throughout their journey.

in late March, we also welcomed a reciprocating team into our District.
